[[TOC(CATkit-proto, CATkit-board, CATkit-huds, CATkit-howto )]] = CATkit prototypes = During the summer of 2006 the first CATkit prototypes were developed. The first prototypes were designed as small 1bit synths to be used during live performance. The first performance with the boards was done at Piksel Festival, Oktober 2006. After these first developments work started on creating a PCB (Printed Circuit Board) that could be used for building more versatile stand-alone objects. == Sheepsint == The very first step in the development of CATkit were the 3 sheepsint boards, used for the Sheepsint performance during Piksel 2006. The boards were very small and had a mini-jack as their only output. One of the boards was build into a toy piano to be used as a standalone instrument. The other two were connected to laptops, used to interactevly execute small sound generating programs on the synth boards. A few prototypes were put together to aid in the design of the PCB. The first batch of PCBs was produced in the summer of 2007. These have been successfully used in a workshop at the DRUH.
