the important things about a mailing list are:

* the archive. in mbox format:

archives/private/NAME.mbox/NAME.mbox

* the list of subscribers

* mailman's config en state stuff

lists/NAME


creating a list:			bin/newlist
updating html archives from mbox:	bin/arch
changing variables			bin/config_list
inspecting config (config.pck)		bin/dumpdb
