Anything well above audio frequencies does not need to worry about
what the noise ripple looks like, so some form of approximate PWM/SD
might work. The basic idea is that handling say 10 PWM signals in
software is not going to pan out. It might be better to use
approximate PWM/SD and compensate for the slack in missing deadlines.
Maybe it's even possible to use one PIC as a dedicated modulator,
running without interrupts, and solving the control problem in another
