Rehash - things that sunk in

"expand AND contract" : this is about partial evaluation.  There is
nothing special about doing this in point-free vs. local variables
form.  It is just easier to express maybe?

This is an important point, because I always thought this was somehow
special.  It is really just more convenient, right?

Well, it is somewhat special in that the assembly output is used to
incrementally optimize.

Now, was this a good idea or not?
This puts me right at the heart of an old fight-or-flight scenario :)


So this is a two-pass system, which allows pseudo-instructions to be
used.  How to decide which subsets are present in the several passes
to eventually end up with real instructions?
