What about giving up on the low level compiler? For PIC it made
sense, but I don't really feel that doing the same for other
architectures is going to be of much use. Especially with projects
like LLVM around, it seems like a waste of time.
Better to aim for a higher level of abstraction.
Regarding LLVM, the most important bits are:
- passing around stack pointers
- optimizing tail calls
But then again... I don't know. The whole idea of Staapl is bottom-up
programming. Let's leave it open..
