So I have an application in mind: ad-hoc sensor boards. It seems
simplest to decouple host (any connectivity to USB host) and sensor
board (USB client).

In order to make this practical, a "highlevel" Forth is probably best.
No real-time requirements, but remote access and remote code upgrade
would be a nice feature.

This approach should also work for other "management software"
e.g. for the analog synth. Really what I need at this point in time
is a way to look at Staapl in a different light. The bias towards
speed and small size on PIC18 has made it hard to write practical
code. Time to take a step back and look at things from the software
design perspective.
