So here's a thing:

- Most state is cache

- If state is actually cache, there is a level of abstraction at which
  purity is preserved

- What about writing all programs that way?

This essentially re-invents microservices, but in a way that makes a
bit more sense maybe?

Actually, a pure function's implementation is a form of state.  So
really this is about stateful applications.
