scheme concurrency
bringing the raw character I/O to a synchronized channel is really
trivial. now for the other way: i'd like to have a raw character
output generated within the expr->reply evaluator to show up on the
console, wrapped in an 'out' event.
this works, but my synchronization is off.
instead of 'simply using' pipes, it might be better to just implement
a new port, which immediately sends stuff through to the channel.
