So what I want is something that looks like an ordinary (TCP) network,
but is actually separate and distributed (actually networked).
Wire security is easy: use a VPN. OpenVPN would work, but it is not
decentralized. IPSec is decentralized?
But then, what about host user security? I also want to make sure
that only one user has access to the network, as internally it is
"naked", e.g. services are not using encryption.
Currently it looks as if the only way to do this properly, is to use
per connection security, i.e. SSL.
