One circuit a day

I'd like to get out of cargo cult component fondling MO and into
building working circuits.  The following things I want:

 - Guitar headphone preamp.

 - El-cheapo modular synth.

Both should run on the tiny perfboard I got, using standard TL072
opamps, of off 9V batteries.
